PJVilla offers tremendous walking opportunities, both from the house around the local area and further into the Elena Balkan Range. Pete will be happy to arrange transport if guests wish.

Bulgaria offers wonderful bird watching opportunities & around Dragijevo you can see green & spotted woodpeckers, jays and hawks & we can guarantee you will see golden orioles and European bee eaters from May to September.

As well as the pool at PJVilla, there are 4 outdoor lidos within 10km, the nearest being 3km away at Lyaskovets. All have cafes, bars & restaurants. Pete would be happy to arrange transport if required, or why not cycle? River swimming is also available.

Within 20km of PJVilla, there are around 20 monasteries which are well worth visiting. The rich history of Veliko Tarnovo is very interesting and there are guided tours of the main attractions such as Tsaravets.

PJVilla has 4 mountain bikes available for use by guests. Cycle around the local villages & see the real rural Bulgarian way of life as it happens. Pete & Jane will supply maps, pack up lunches & haversack if required
